Climatic testing
How will your product perform under extreme climatic conditions? To avoid delay to market and excessive cost involve Nemko early in the process with fully accredited climatic testing.
Climatic and thermal testing is performed to ensure that a product will withstand the environment it is intended for; during transportation, storage and in operation. A climatic and thermal chamber combines extreme temperatures with humidity.
Fully accredited testing is available for most standards.
The effects of temperature and humidity over a wide range of combinations and levels are simulated according to IEC 60068-2-series.
What conditions are simulated during climatic testing?
Low temperature |
IEC 60068-2-1 |
Dry heat |
IEC 60068-2-2 |
Damp heat, cyclic |
IEC 60068-2-30 |
Damp heat, steady state |
IEC 60068-2-66 |
Change of temperature |
IEC 60068-2-14 |
Low air pressure |
IEC 60068-2-13 |
Salt mist |
IEC 60068-2-11 |
Corrosion |
IEC 60068-2-52 |
Combine temperature with vibration |
IEC 60068-2-50 and IEC 60068-2-51 |
Combine temperature with low air pressure |
IEC 60068-2-40 and IEC 60068-2-41 |
We test according to relevant product standards and specifications, for example:
• IEC 60945
• Maritime Classification Society specifications
• IEC 60721-series
• ETSI 300 019
Nemko can provide guidance in identifying the appropriate set of standards and severity levels for your product.
