Regulations for telecom and wireless equipment
Regulations exist in Canada and the US for many telecom and wireless products. These regulations often require formal certification or registration for the equipment prior to sale.
TCB Certification process
Certification is based on review of test results, technical design documentation and administrative attestations. Guidelines for preparation of these applications and on how to work with Nemko TCB have been prepared and are available to assist you.
The TCB will:
- Review applications and provide prompt feedback
- Explain the rules and regulations
- Issue the certifications for compliant product
- Register certifications with the regulatory authorities
By using Nemko you will be working with a knowledgeable, customer focused certification body that prides itself on delivering quality and impartial certifications with customer service as a core principle.
Nemko is recognised to certify to ISED scopes 1, 2, 3 , 4 and 5 which cover all Canada’s Radio Standards Specifications (RSS’s) and the FCC scopes A1, A2, A3, A4, B1, B2, B3, B4 and C which cover all of the US radio and telecom rules.
Canada uses registration for telecommunications terminal equipment as opposed to certification as described in their terminal Equipment registration procedure DC-01. Nemko can assist with this as well as certify for the US under 47 CFR Part 68 rules.
