Manufacturers wanting to sell their products in Taiwan must meet the strict product safety requirements and regulations. The BSMI safety mark is mandatory for electrical and electronic products under the Commodity Inspection Act. The inspection of electrical and electronic commodities is conducted according to three schemes:
- Type Approved Batch Inspection (TABI) - mechanical, chemical, electrical and electronic products (valid for three years).
- Registration of Product Certification (RPC) - for electrical and electronic products (valid for three years).
- Declaration of Conformity (DOC) - for components of IT equipment and electronic products (no expiry).
