Nemko Canada can certify electrical products to Canadian Energy efficiency requirements.
Electrical and Electronic apparatus prescribed in federal and some provincial regulations in Canada as having Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) require mandatory Energy Efficiency Verification (EEV).
The organizations that certify these products under an EEV program must be accredited by the Standards Council of Canada and recognized by Canadian Regulators for the particular scope of accreditation.
The Federal regulator in Canada is Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).
Nemko Canada can certify to the prescribed MEPS for the following categories of products:
- Battery Chargers
- Compact Audio
- Televisions
- Audio/Video
- External power supplies
Nemko’s certificates also cover the regulations from Canadian Provinces and territories including British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.
Nemko’s SCC scope can be found on the SCC website.
