Reliability by Functional Safety The implementation of safety functions involves the use of increasingly complex controls and programming. However, relying solely on classic product standards with a deterministic approach to demonstrate safety has its limitations. In this regard, the application of a probabilistic approach through the functional safety approach provides a viable solution. Nevertheless, it is crucial to consider certain aspects at the early stages of development planning in order to successfully attain the intended goal in the realm of functional safety. This presentation aims to introduce the concept of functional safety and highlight the disparities between functional safety testing and traditional safety testing methodologies. |
