Per Ove Øyberg (born 1971) joined Nemko in April 2019.  Per Ove has extensive experience from the Testing, Inspection and Certification industry locally and globally at all levels in DNVGL.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Power Electronics from Gjøvik College of Engineering, and a Master of Science in Process Automation from the University of South-Eastern Norway (former HIT) as well as executive educations from Insead Business School, SDA Bocconi and IMD Business School.   

Aqsa Butt (born 1977) joined Nemko in May 2016. Aqsa has extensive management experience within finance and business operations from various industries in local and global companies. In her previous position, she was country CFO & head of business operation for Siemens Healthcare AS from 2008-2016. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor degree in Finance from the Norwegian School of Management (BI).

John Bakken (born 1965) is responsible for Nemko Group Operations; testing, factory inspection, product certification and international approval. He has more than 28 years of experience from Nemko where he has worked in various positions;  Project engineer, General manager Nemko USA, Team manager, Lab manager and IT manager Nemko Group. From his various positions, he has gained broad international experience working with organisations in Europe, Asia and North America. John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Electronics from Gjøvik College of Engineering and a Master of Management degree from NTNU, Trondheim.

Kristian Syverstad Myrbakk came from the position as Group Legal Counsel in DNV GL Group, and joined Nemko in February 2020.

He has broad experience from most fields of activity in a TIC company. This includes quality case handling, establishment and maintenance of quality systems, NoBo governance and services, litigation, insurance handling, contracts, compliance and intellectual property rights law. His experience also includes working with digital initiatives to make the existing service portfolio more efficient and to create new digital services.

Since he graduated in January 2000, Kristian has also worked as a lawyer at the Attorney General for Civil Affairs (Regjeringsadvokaten), as a public prosecutor and as a corporate lawyer.

Grant Schmidbauer (born 1963) is responsible for the Nemko Group Sales and Marketing function, as well as Nemko Group services for Certification and International Approvals. Grant has more than 36 years of experience in the field of international product compliance and is tasked with further developing Nemko’s brand in the market.   Started with Nemko in 1996, Grant formerly worked for CSA International and TUV SUD. Grant is a graduate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Vancouver BC, in Power Electronics.  Grant is an IEEE Sr. member and is currently in his 3rd term serving on the Board of Directors of the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society (IEEE/PSES).

Choi Yong Beom (born 1964) is responsible for Nemko Asia. He started in his position in 2010, following his previous position as General Manager for Nemko Korea. His responsibility is to manage and develop all Nemko activities in Asia. Choi Yong Beom is also responsible for the business development in the region.

Shahram G. Maralani (born 1976) joined Nemko in August 2022.  Shahram has more than two decades of senior leadership experience internationally, the last nineteen years of which holding various executive roles in the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry (DNV). He has a PhD in Management, an MBA and also a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and has been through Executive and Digital Transformation educations with INSEAD and UC Berkeley.
