Russian customs again accepting non-Russian EAC certificates
As anticipated in the last issue of Nemko News in Brief, the problem with Russian customs not accepting regional EAC certificates issued in the other EAEU member states (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia) has finally been resolved.
An announcement to this effect on 6 June by Nemko’s Belarusian partner Bellis may be seen here.
The EAC scheme for electrical products is largely based on the European Low Voltage and EMC Directives, while retaining obligatory certification for the time being. It is however seen as a major simplification for exporters a long as only a single certificate is needed for this region, while before certification for each country was needed.
The recent restrictions for market access to Russia, as apparently created by their customs, was not expected.
