Most products imported, stored, transported, commercialized, sold or used in Mexico must comply with official Mexican standards. These standards are referred to as NOMs (Normas Oficiales Mexicanas), and different NOMs will apply according to the category of your product.

The process
- Contact Nemko to get information about which NOMs apply to your products.
- Products are for compliance.
- Certification will be issued.
- The Mexican market, with access to more than 100 million people, is open to you.
- Submit the required documents to Nemko.
Documentation Required
- Manual of operation
- Technical specification sheet
- Product photographs and electrical diagrams
- Information regarding rated frequencies (Hz), supply voltage (V), power consumption (W) or rated current (A)
- Specification of type of power (AC or DC)
- Device Rating Label with NOM marking
- Component listing as needed
- Test Report
- Applicable declaration letter(s)
- Mexican tariff fraction (8-digit code)
- Articles of incorporation
- Power of attorney for local representative (if applicable)
- Local Representative RFC Registration Document
- ID Card of Local Representative that will be signing required forms\
- Document which provides proof of the Local Representative Company address (phone bill etc)
- Completed Nemko NOM Application (Application will be provided when project is opened)
- Completed NOM agreement (Agreement will be provided when project is opened)
- Other documentation may be required, depending on the given situation.
