EAC Certificate and EAC Declaration for the Eurasian Economic Area

EAC is mandatory in all EAEU countries. You can choose between a certification and a conformity assessment.

What is the EAC?

EAC is the abbreviation for "Eurasian Conformity". With the EAC certificate or declaration, you prove that your products comply with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) regulations and standards for customs clearance and trade. The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) is a trade and economic agreement between Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Armenia. It forms a free trade area between the participating countries.

There are currently almost 44 applicable certification and declaration schemes in the EAEU. Some of these schemes are mandatory and required for compliance. You can opt for certification by an accredited body or your own conformity assessment. The certificate and the declaration have the same validity. The products that must have the evidence must be either certified or declared.

The Certificate of Compliance is required for products for domestic use whereas the EAC Declaration can be used for industry- and workspace environments.

In addition to Safety (TR 004), EMC (TR 020) and regulations for Machinery (TR 010), EAEU RoHS (TR 037) is mandatory. In September 2022 Energy Efficiency (TR 048) requirements will be implemented.

How important is an EAC certificate or declaration?

Very important - and essential if you intend to sell consumer goods and industrial equipment to the EEU. It proves compliance with health and safety regulations and allows you to sell to a market of almost 200,000 consumers in five countries in Eurasia.

Trading in the EAEU without an EAC mark can result in fines and confiscation of your products.
