Define your role within Nemko.
I work as a Technical Manager, and my role is to lead the operations of the electrical & electronics product safety and environmental testing department. As a Technical Manager, I maintain the necessary test equipment and the quality system per the scope. Also responsible for the project delivery. Before TM, I worked as a senior safety Testing Engineer.
How did you choose this career path?
After completing of Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication, I was actively looking for an opportunity to expand my knowledge and gain professional experience. Then I learned that one of India's leading companies in the TIC industry has opportunities; that's how I got my first job as a Testing Engineer. Then I was selected for the Sr. testing engineer position in Nemko India.
What do you enjoy most about your job at Nemko?
The most exciting part is that we see new products and technologies before they come to market. The great environment and culture at Nemko, and I also need to mention that whenever you get stuck in something or have questions, there are professionals to help you out.
Are there any challenges that you’ve faced during your career that have taught you important lessons?
Yes, when I became a Technical Manager, I had many challenges to complete in this position. The lesson I learn is that you have to make sure about your decisions and keep learning and developing new skills to defeat the challenges.
What do you think the industry will look like in 20 years?
As we know, technology is rapidly changing. I think robotics and product technology will change the world. So IoT and cyber security will play a significant role in the future.
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
Learning new technology and about products before market access is very exciting. Helping customers with their queries about products. I am happy working with an excellent supporting team and colleagues, which feels good.
What are some market trends you’re keeping an eye on?
Many products will come in BIS CRS and MTCTE schemes in India. Regulations for Medical electrical products and cyber security.
When not working, how do you spend your spare time?
My daughter just turned 1.5 years old, so I spend most of the time playing with her and caring for her. I like to watch movies and TV series at home.
