Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is an island country and city-state in South East Asia, with Malaysia to the north and Indonesia to the South. The population is presently about 6 mill, with ¾ being of Chinese descent.

On 1 February, the country’s Consumer Product Safety Office (CPSO) published an updated Information Booklet for Product Safety Requirement Regulation.

Among the updates are the below items related to IT/AV products.

    - Circuit diagrams shall show components’ values for products tested to IEC60065, IEC60950-1 and IEC 62368-1.
    - Electric appliances with maximum rating above 3 kW shall have fixed wiring. (Rating based on supplier’s declared output or on test results,
      whichever is higher).
    - AC adaptors with output >100W shall comply with the requirements in circular CPSO-070923-11 (Appendix I)

    Additional details from circular CPSO-070923-11:

    A. For AC adaptors tested to IEC 62368-1 edition 3.0 (2018) and earlier:
        a. Clause 6.6. of Ed.3.0 only allows for AC adaptors delivering >100W to a connected equipment if the connected equipment also complies with

             IEC 62368-1.
        b. The circular describes in detail the methods to fulfill the Clause 6.6.

    B. Requirements for AC adaptors tested to IEC 62368-1 edition 4.0 (2023)
         a. Clause 6.6. of Ed. 4.0 allows for AC adaptors delivering >100W to a connected equipment if power is not delivered via a communication port.

         b. AC adaptors delivering >100W to a connected equipment are unlikely to deliver power via a communication port. Hence, most such AC
adaptors will fully comply with Ed. 4.0 without needing further requirements.
