Nemko Group has acquired the rest of the shares of Nemko Norlab and is now the sole owner of the company. The purpose is to further increase collaboration between the two businesses to meet the needs of existing and future customers in a competent and cost-efficient manner.
In June, Nemko Group AS acquired 58% of the shares in SMK Lab Holding AS who owns 100% of the shares of Nemko Norlab (previously SINTEF Norlab). The opportunities and market synergies experienced since then make the purchase of the remaining 42% of the shares a natural next step.
“We have spent the past couple of months familiarizing ourselves with Nemko Norlab’s business, customers, and our new colleagues. What we have seen has reinforced our belief in the positive synergies that exist between our two businesses. I look forward to strengthening the collaboration further through our full ownership,” says CEO of Nemko, Per Ove Øyberg.
Nemko is a global organization that offers market access services, product testing, inspection and certification services to more than 150 countries, while Nemko Norlab primarily supports Norwegian customers within environmental monitoring, chemical analyses, microbiology and veterinary medicine. The purpose of combining Nemko Norlab’s competencies with Nemko’s is enabling the development of an integrated global services portfolio to support existing and new services driving the green transition.
“Our ambition for Nemko Norlab is to grow outside the Norwegian market and an even closer integration into the Nemko Group will only improve our opportunities for achieving this,” says Eigil Dåbakk, CEO of Nemko Norlab.
Nemko Norlab will continue its business as usual under the Nemko Norlab name and current CEO of Nemko Norlab, Eigil Dåbakk, will remain in this role.
