Wi-Fi 6E is considered the next step in the Wi-Fi evolution and is claimed to represent a huge enhancement by opening new, exclusive channels never before available for unlicensed Wi-Fi use.
WiFi 6E works with frequency band ranging from 5.925 GHz to 7.125 GHz, allowing up to 1,200 MHz of additional spectrum. Unlike the existing bands on which channels are currently crammed into the limited spectrum, the 6 GHz band exists without overlap or interference. Access to the 6 GHz frequency brings more bandwidth, faster speeds, and lower latency, opening up resources for future innovations like in AR/VR, 8K streaming and more.
Amongst some other countries, the telecom authorities in Thailand NBTC recently published a notification about implementing a technical standard for Wi-Fi in 6 GHz (Wi-Fi 6E) i.e. for the frequency band from 5.925 GHZ to 6.425GHz.
The Thai standard is denoted NBTC TS 1039-2566 Telecommunication Equipment Using Frequency of 5.925-6.425GHz, and entails in-short the following:
-Conformity assessment concept: Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC)
-Test report for Radio Frequency according to FCC Part 15.407
-Test report for Electrical Safety per IEC60950-1 or IEC62368-1 or TIS 62368-1
