8. Software , firmware & hardware configuration when its type or revision level may affect compliance.

Government of India is in process of regulating mandatory safety requirement for machinery & has released draft OTR (Omnibus Technical Regulation) making it compulsory to obtain certification from BIS. Soon the final notification will be released. The BIS recently said it is framing mandatory quality standards for 371 items identified by commerce ministry & the process will be completed by March 2021.
