To increase the knowledge of designers and manufacturers of electrical/electronic products who are preparing to ensure compliance of their products with regulatory eco-design requirements, Nemko has launched a service named Product sustainability corner. The service entails a series of free self-assessment modules, and a new one launched monthly.
It is a platform providing knowledge and updates for meeting existing and upcoming requirements in order for the products to become ‘greener’ and more sustainable.
Nemko’s core mission is to work for safe and sustainable products and systems. In line with this core mission and noted concern of several customers, it was found appropriate to help create awareness about integrating sustainable approaches into one’s business and product design.
As key stakeholders in the product lifecycle, the decisions of product designers and manufacturers have naturally a significant impact on the environment and society. The Product Sustainability Corner offers useful self-assessments to help understand and meet mandatory sustainability requirements and global best practices for electrical/electronic products.
In each self-assessment module, there are 10 multiple-choice questions designed to help exploring relevant topics. Once finished, quick insights into the key points to remember are provided. The assessments should take less than 5 min.
New self-assessment topics will be added regularly, reflecting the best practices in the sustainability landscape.
