Expands recognition for North America and internationally

Nemko Taiwan has been officially recognised by the US authority OSHA as a site under Nemko’s NRTL scope for North American certification.  With this site recognition came an expansion for Nemko whereby testing and certification to the US safety standard for batteries, UL 2054 is now recognized under the OSHA/NRTL program, as can be seen here. 

A simultaneous scope extension with the Canadian authority SCC was also undertaken to ensure that batteries can be certified for the Canadian market as well, as can be seen here 

Recognized site status with OSHA allows a site to perform certification decisions on site and also perform other critical activities for the operation of the NRTL. 
“This brings our service closer to the customers in their geographical locations and provides enhanced service delivery options” says Stuart Beck, Nemko Certification Manager. 

During 2024, Nemko has achieved also a large scope expansion with both OSHA and the SCC to add test and capability for explosive protected equipment for hazardous locations.  This complements Nemko’s Notified Body status for both the European ATEX Directive and the recognition of Nemko’s laboratory in Austin, USA as an ExTL within the international IECEx system.
