CISPR 14-1 and CISPR 14-2 were published in the Official Journal as EN 55014-1:2021 and EN 55014-2:2021 on 26. September 2021.
CISPR, or the Comité International Spécial des Perturbations Radioélectriques, is an international standards organization responsible for determining the technical requirements needed to regulate radio frequency interference from electronic devices as part of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
Comprised of various sub-committees, each group of industry electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) experts work to develop harmonized regulations across a wide range of industries throughout the world. These emissions standards typically become the recognized standards for the European Union, and once published in the Official Journal (OJ), CISPR standards take on the Euro-norm prefix, “EN”.
CISPR 14-1 specifies the requirements that apply to the emission of radiofrequency (RF) disturbances, emitted from household appliances, electric tools, and similar apparatus.
CISPR 14-2 specifies the requirements that apply to the immunity from radiofrequency (RF) disturbances for household appliances, electric tools, and similar apparatus.
Once it has officially been published in the OJ in 2021, CISPR 14-1:2020 and CISPR 14-2:2020 will be adopted as EN 55014-1:2021 and EN 55014-2:2021, respectively. The date of withdrawal stands as of October 12, 2023, for both standards.
Amendment A11:2020 has made significant editorial and technical changes that will come into effect on the 26 of September. Here are some changes to be aware of regarding the documentation:
All relevant product manufacturers must understand these new updates in the standard as some may require additional gap testing to ensure compliance and update test reports.
