A service for safety assurance of digital technology was recently officially incorporated by Nemko in the Netherlands. This new service is denoted Nemko Digital and is regarded as an exciting new chapter in Nemko’s development.

In recent years, alongside various digital innovations, there has been a worldwide wave of legislative changes affecting nearly all digital services.

Companies across various sectors see how adapting to new technologies can help them remain competitive in a rapidly changing digital landscape. Especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), if carefully implemented, this can serve businesses and society in various ways.
However, the key to maximizing the benefits of AI while mitigating its risks, lies in robust governance and responsible innovation.
Society at large and lawmakers have grown increasingly critical of the rapid and uncareful implementation of new technologies. Thus, the old tech ethos to "Move fast and break things" will, under increased regulatory requirements and public oversight, no longer be a viable business strategy.

It is believed that the key to robust adaptation of new technologies such as AI, is to be on top of the future regulatory requirements and mitigate the risks that digital technologies pose, both on businesses and the broader environment.
By centering trust and safety, Nemko Digital shall help companies adapt to this new era of digital governance by providing learning material, webinars, and organizing events and workshops.
